Jonathan Burke is a dancer and instructors from Boston who just moved to Atlanta. He teaches Afro-Cuban folklore and some popular dances. In Boston he taught, performed and organized music and dance workshops in Afro-Cuban folklore. He then moved to Washington D.C. where he performed, taught workshops, as well as trained and created choreography for the respected D.C. Casineros. Jonathan’s teaching style breaks down Afro-Cuban into easy, simple movements, with detail to how they represent what’s going on in the music. Very important to Jonathan’s style is cultural and historic context, which informs the dances that he teaches.
